Greetings from the students at the University of Kansas School of Medicine-Wichita!

We thank you for your interest in partnering with the Jaydoc Community Clinic. 

The Jaydoc Community Clinic (JCC) was founded and is operated by KU medical students. 
The clinic is run in cooperation with the KUSM-W Department of Family and Community Medicine and Guadalupe Clinic.

The clinic operates at Guadalupe Clinic, which is located at 940 S. St. Francis, on Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

What are the pre-medical student volunteers be responsible for?

The pre-medical student volunteers are an integral part of making the clinic work.  The volunteers are responsible for checking in the patients when they come in the door and taking the patient's vitals.  The volunteers then report to a medical student and tell them about the patient.

Volunteers are also often called upon to assist with language services if they can speak another language.  There are many other responsibilities that may come up and the volunteers will be there to help make the clinic as successful as possible in all aspects.

Who can volunteer?

The Executive Directors select 16 pre-medical students from the local Wichita Universities each semester.  In the future we will be opening up more volunteer positions.  At this point in time we are only selecting students who are pre-medical students.  However, as our clinic grows we hope to expand this to Nursing students, Physician Assistant students, etc., so please keep checking back with us.
